“Behind the Monster” is a behind-the-scenes look at how a weird idea—“what if Monster Energy could take over people’s minds?”—turned into a four-part movie series that somehow took off. But the real drama happened off-screen. Director Cal Grossman and writer Sagan Davison started out as a dream team. But during the making of the final film, everything fell apart.
