The Canadian Warplane Heritage Avro Lancaster FM213 made a historic visit to the UK in 2014 and brought into sharp focus the sacrifice of Bomber Command aircrews in World War 2 when nearly half were killed. She flew with the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight Lancaster, Spitfires and Hurricanes on several occasions but the highlights of the tour were overflying East Kirkby with Lancaster NX611 taxying underneath and the emotional event at Lincoln when the Lancasters flew with the iconic Avro Vulcan. They overflew the Turf Cutting Ceremony for the new International Bomber Command Centre.
